SEE ANOTHER SIDE OF SOUTH BASS ISLAND

We'll paddle from Middle Bass Island to Put-in-Bay, seeing the impressive Perry Peace Memorial from the water, and then paddle  through the rock formations that make up Gibraltar Island and the western shore of South Bass Island.   As we travel, we'll wind our way through rock gardens and even into a sea cave.   Wildlife is abundant, including osprey, herons, and egrets.   You'll also likely see a Lake Erie watersnake fishing in the nearshore area or sunning themselves on a rock.  Don't worry, these formerly endangered snakes--native only to Ohio's Erie Island--are harmless!

MEETING LOCATION:

This tour meets at the Miller Ferry Terminal in Catawba, OH.  We will take the ferry to Middle Bass Island, which is the launching point for this tour.
